Whenever the object of clay which he was making turned out badly in his hand, he tried again... (From Jeremiah 18:1-6)
“He tried again...” We can learn a lot from this potter who tried again and again to make his pots the right way. We need to try again in our relationships when we say and do something the wrong way. We need to try again to show love when we did the exact opposite. We need to try again when we let that chance to forgive pass us by. We need to try again when we give into temptation and sin. We need to try again when we fail to turn the other cheek. We need to try again when we fail to follow Jesus in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We need to try again when we haven’t been a great parent because we lost our temper. We need to try again when we’ve turned away from the church, from the LORD, from the Commandments, and from the call to love our neighbor. We need to try again, my sisters and brothers in Christ, because none of us is perfect, but God asks us to try anyway! Try again to love, to serve, to forgive, and to change the world by the light of Christ that is within you! Amen
