Help us, O God our savior, because of the glory of your name; Deliver us and pardon our sins for your name’s sake. (Psalm 79:9)
We need help, don’t we? Help from temptation, from sin, from grief, from our anger, from an unwillingness to forgive, from the hardness of our hearts, from greed, from our stubbornness, from rivalry, from envy, from our preconceived notions about other races and cultures, and from ourselves. Will another check from Congress make the world better? Will a new President heal our heart? Will being “right” about the pandemic make you feel vindicated? Will arguing on Twitter and Facebook really make a difference to your soul? The only thing to heal us, to help us, and to make this world whole again is the LORD! Turn to God and be healed! Turn to the LORD and be forgiven! Turn to the words and ways of Jesus and we shall renew the face of the earth! My sisters and brothers in Christ, the answer is humility, love, and trusting in the LORD...by those we shall see the glory of eternal life! Amen!
