God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. (Psalm 46:2)
Some think what makes America or themselves great is wealth. Some think it’s their profession or last name that gives them refuge or strength. Some think their looks will bail them out of trouble. Some think it’s the R or the D behind their candidate’s name that is the strength. Some think the color of their skin makes them better than others. Some think it’s their citizenship status that allows them to look down on others. However, sin and Satan come for us all. Cancer, viruses, illness, accidents...they come for us all. There is only one that can give us refuge, strength, shelter in the storm of life, comfort and help in times of distress...God! God is where we find hope, courage, compassion, forgiveness, kindness, and hope! Don’t lean on anything of this world or of your own doing, but trust in the LORD for all that you need! If it’s mercy you seek...the stock market won’t give you that! If it’s a miracle you need...your bank account won’t buy you one of those! If it’s peace your soul desires...your last name or skin tone won’t do the trick, but it is in God that we will find all that we need! Trust in God during these trying times and ALL WILL BE WELL, my sisters and brothers in Christ! Amen!
